Topographic Surveys.

Architects, engineers and builders design on what's actually there. A topographic survey gives them the ground truth — elevations, contours, and every feature on the site.

A topographic survey maps the three-dimensional shape of a site: existing grades, spot elevations, contours, drainage, utilities, trees, walls, drives and structures. It's the base your design professional builds on — for a new home, an addition, a drainage plan, or a municipal submission.

On flood-prone shore lots, topo work and elevation data go hand in hand. We capture grade relationships precisely so your engineer can design to current flood and stormwater requirements the first time.

Questions

Topographic Surveys FAQ

Can you deliver the survey in CAD for my architect?+

Yes. We provide topographic surveys in formats your design professional can work in directly, along with the sealed plan, so there's no re-drafting and no lost detail.

Do you tie elevations to FEMA datum?+

We tie topographic work to the NAVD 88 vertical datum, which is the same reference used for FEMA elevation certificates — useful when your project also involves flood compliance.

How detailed is the survey?+

As detailed as your project requires. We confirm contour intervals, the survey limits, and which features to pick up before we mobilize, so you get exactly what your engineer or town needs.

Do I need a topographic survey for a permit?+

Many Ocean County municipalities require a topographic or grading plan for new construction, additions and stormwater review. Tell us your town and project and we'll confirm what's needed.
